When there are a specific number messages in the queue, the MQ software sends them to a file in C:\Windows\System32\MSMQ\Storage Directory. Files accumulate until the directory exceeds its limit (1GB by default).
Solution:
Create a batch file that deletes all files from the MSMQ storage directory and use Task Scheduler to run the file every week at an hour when you know the system tends to idle.
