Cannot get Java Weblogic APM template to work in APM 4.2

Issue: You cannot get the Java Weblogic APM template to work in APM 4.2.

Versions of Weblogic differ and may require different parameters from those outlined in the APM Administrator's guide.

Resolution: JMX Java options may not be set in the proper place for your setup of Weblogic. Some implementations of Weblogic, under Windows, require the Java JMX options to be placed in a registry key, as opposed to the setDomainEnv.cmd file.

In most implementations of Weblogic, the startup parameters for each managed server (mServer) are located in the Windows registry under the following key, due to the fact that the Weblogic managed servers start up as Windows services (beasvc.exe):

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\beasvc_\Parameters] > CmdLine

In order to implement JMX or SNMP for Java monitoring, add the –Dcom options for JMX and SNMP to the CmdLine key for each Weblogic managed server as follows:

-server -classpath "C:\AmdocsCRM7.5\awsi\WEB-INF\classes;C:\AmdocsCRM7.5\ClfyAgent\ClfyAgent.war\WEB-INF\lib\xercesImpl.jar;C:\AmdocsCRM7.5\ClfyAgent\ClfyAgent.war\WEB-INF\lib\saaj.jar;C:\AmdocsCRM7.5\lib\AmdocsSecurityManager.jar;C:\AmdocsCRM7.5\Clarify\lib\sqljdbc.jar;C:\bea\weblogic92\server\lib\weblogic.jar;C:\jdk1.5.0_17\jre\lib\rt.jar;C:\AmdocsCRM7.5\Server\dbadmin;;C:\bea\patch_weblogic921\profiles\default\sys_manifest_classpath\weblogic_patch.jar;C:\JDK15~1.0_1\lib\tools.jar;C:\bea\WEBLOG~1\server\lib\weblogic_sp.jar;C:\bea\WEBLOG~1\server\lib\weblogic.jar;C:\bea\WEBLOG~1\server\lib\webservices.jar;;C:\bea\WEBLOG~1\common\eval\pointbase\lib\pbclient51.jar;C:\bea\WEBLOG~1\server\lib\xqrl.jar;;" -Xms1024m -Xmx1024m -Xss512k -XX:CompileThreshold=8000 -XX:PermSize=300m -XX:MaxPermSize=500m -Djava.security.auth.login.config=C:\bea\WEBLOG~1\server\lib\auth.conf -Damdocs.system.home=C:\AmdocsCRM7.5\Clarify\asm_home -Damdocs.uams.config.resource=res/crm/secsrv/alone -Damdocs.uams.config.print=true -Dweblogic.alternateTypesDirectory=C:\AmdocsCRM7.5\Clarify\lib -Dweblogic.Name=AdminServer -Damdocs.uams.startup.password=none -Dweblogic.ProductionModeEnabled=false -Djava.security.policy=C:\bea\WEBLOG~1\server\lib\weblogic.policy -Dcom.amdocs.uif.server.UifConfigReader=com.amdocs.crm.uif.ConfigReader -Xdebug -Xnoagent -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,address=5588,server=y,suspend=n -Djava.compiler=NONE -Dweblogic.Name=AdminServer -Djava.security.policy=C:\bea\WEBLOG~1\server\lib\weblogic.policy -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote
