Syslogd service failed to respond

Try the following steps to resolve this problem:

1.     From a command prompt, type the following to ensure connectivity:

        telnet 127.0.0.1 3300

Note: If you are using Windows 7/2008, you may need to install the Telnet client since it does not install automatically.

2.     Disable any anti-virus, system protection, or firewall applications.

A possible explanation would be that the service is too busy to respond. If you suspect this is the case, lower the number of messages you receive per hour.
