  1. questionPlotting method changes back to line after polling an interface
    The plotting method of a chart changes back to the default line setting once an interface is polled when using the Network Performance Monitor classic tool. This is a known issue. As a work-around, you can use the Workspace Studio Monitoring gadgets to create charts.

    In order to correct this issue have the customer install Engineers Toolset v8 then uninstall Engineers Toolset v8 and say no to removing shared files. Be sure not to uninstall v9. Then have customer open up Network Performance Monitor.
  4. questionAlerts for rebooted nodes are delayed
    This is typically a result of setting the Rediscover Nodes and Interfaces setting too high. We recommend decreasing this setting. To modify the setting, click on the Settings button, select the Polling tab, and modify the Rediscover Nodes and Interfaces setting. The default is 30 minutes.

    Some devices will only respond to pings of a certain size. In the Settings section under the Network tab, try changing the packet size. Usually even sized packets work best. If that does not resolve the issue, try packets of a really small size.

    Check to see if the database is being backed up at night. If so, the backup program may have 'file lock' turned on. In this instance, the Network Performance Monitor application is no longer able to access the database tables during the database backup and the error occurs.
